On behalf of JCPC team, I’m thrilled to welcome you to the first Jaber Clinical Pharmacy Conference, an exceptional platform for knowledge exchange, skills development, networking, and collaboration with fellow professionals in clinical pharmacy and other healthcare specialties. This conference offers a unique exhibition and exciting program filled with informative sessions, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and an interesting thought-provoking game. Dr. Afrah Aladwani
Biography
Dr. Afrah is the Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Unit at Jaber Alahmad Hospital. She
obtained her PhD in Clinical Pharmacy and PGCert (Researcher Professional
Development) from the University of Strathclyde, Institute of Pharmacy and
Biomedical Sciences, UK. Currently, Dr. Afrah is a member of the Breast Cancer
Multidisciplinary Team (Breast MDT) at Jaber Hospital, where she provides
specialized care for patients receiving chemotherapy. During her practice, Dr.
Afrah established the guidance of chemotherapy stability calculation and
transportation in collaboration with the oncology team to facilitate chemotherapy
delivery at Jaber Hospital. Besides, she established the first oncology clinic run by a
clinical pharmacist in Kuwait to enhance patients’ understanding of their disease
and the concept of individualized cancer treatment.
Besides oncology, Dr. Afrah established and approved various protocols and
clinical practice standards with her team in collaboration with the oncology,
infectious disease, nephrology, and cardiology units. Also, she leads a workshopsbased
program established in 2022 for continuing education and skills
development for pharmacists to promote high-standard updated practice.
In addition, Dr. Afrah is active in research as she established the Breast Cancer
Research Group (BCRG) in 2020, which includes healthcare professionals from
different specialties. Dr. Afrah has been involved in multiple studies and has
published her articles and abstracts in international conferences and journals.

Dr. Zainab Safar
Biography
Dr. Zainab Safar holds an Honorary Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and an
Honorary Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from Kuwait University, where
she gained a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences. Currently, she is the
Medical Team Leader in the Clinical Pharmacy Unit at Jaber Alahmad Hospital.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing
inpatient therapeutic outcomes, particularly in internal medicine, by establishing
protocols and policies to promote evidence-based practices among healthcare
professionals. Additionally, Dr. Zainab created various patient education
materials on different drug forms to optimize patient utilization of their
medication and enhance compliance.
Besides her role in clinical practice, Dr. Zainab leads the Clinical Pharmacy Unit
training program in Jaber Hospital along with the head of the unit and effectively
provides lectures and workshops to the unit candidates to assist them in gaining
essential knowledge and skills required to assess and manage patients in
practice. Dr. Zainab has also participated in several successful hospital events
and awareness campaigns, focusing on improving patient outcomes and
educating the public on critical health issues. Her dedication to advancing clinical
pharmacy practice has earned her recognition in both academic and clinical
settings.

Dr.Shaikha AlOudah
Biography
Dr. Shaikhah obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from Kuwait
University and joined the Clinical Pharmacy Team at Jaber Alahmad Hospital in
2023. She is passionate about geriatric care and continued her professional
learning to pursue a certificate in “Responsible Medication Prescribing for Older
Adults” from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is also a participant in the
Geriatric Pharmaceutical Care Program offered by the Geriatric Health Services
Administration of the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Kuwait. Currently, she is a
member of Jaber Hospital Geriatric Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and provides
essential care for older adults in inpatient wards and OPD clinics.
In her role, Dr. Shaikhah has developed numerous patient education materials
tailored to the unique needs of older adults and created a patient education
checklist for pharmacists to support colleagues interested in developing patient
education material.
During her career, Dr. Shaikhah participated in multiple national initiatives
organized by the Geriatric Health Services Administration to raise awareness about
geriatric conditions and empower caregivers to improve health outcomes,
including the Alzheimer’s Awareness Campaign and the Fall Prevention Campaign.
As a passionate educator, Dr. Shaikhah frequently conducts lectures and
presentations to enhance geriatric care knowledge among the clinical pharmacy
team and share her experience.

Biography
Ph. Latifah is a clinical pharmacist in Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital. She holds a Master of
Pharmacy (MPharm) from the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences,
Liverpool John Moores University, UK and an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, Institute of
Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, UK. Ph. Latifah is
passionate about patient education and pediatric care as she is a certified pediatrics
pharmacist, Newborn Care Specialist, breastfeeding counselor, and educator.
Additionally, ph. Latifah is certified in BLS, First Aid, Paediatric and Adult CPR, and
Safe Injection. During her practice, ph. Latifah completed clinical pharmacy training
programs in the UK and Kuwait in both public and private sectors, and she was a
member of the oncology team at Jaber Hospital.

Biography
Ph. Ali is the oncology pharmacy team leader and a member of the Clinical Pharmacy
Unit training program at Jaber Alahmad Hospital. Ph. Ali is interested in oncology and
played a key role in establishing chemotherapy delivery services and established a
patient counseling OPD clinic for gyne-oncology patients to provide optimal
education on chemotherapy and side effects management.
In addition, Ph. Ali continued his education by pursuing multiple certificates for
completing virtual courses and attended many national and international conferences
to enhance his professional knowledge and expertise. Also, ph. Ali is interested in
research as he has participated in observational studies and presented his abstracts
in Kuwait and Dubai. Besides, Ph. Ali has led many initiatives and participated in
awareness campaigns to raise patient awareness.
